Its true, Although I'm up to my neck in RIA every day, I'm still impressed by some of the things that people are able to do with RIAs and the internet. Here are a few examples that really grabbed my attention this evening.
Google street view was recently updated to include more cities; one of which happens to be DC, where I live. Below is Cynergy's DC office. It is amazing that I am able to gather this much information through the web, including 3d photography. I can almost see my desk in one of the 3rd floor windows...

Then, while browsing Google's LatLon blog, i stumbled across live election updates in real time, powered by Google maps. While this is not groundbreaking, it is a very good application of the technology. (Today is election day, I hope you voted.)
Next, I decided to browse my favorite Flash 3D framework blogs (PaperVision3D, Away3D, and Alternativa). I came across numerous impressive graphics applications, however this architectural visualization using Alternativa really impressed me. Its an interactive 3d model/walk through. Just click on the arrow buttons to step through the demo.
And one can't forget the live news coverage of the election that I'm currently watching via streamed video and the Flash player (which we often take for granted).
To all of the RIA developers out there, thank you, and keep up the good work. Your ideas inspire others, including me.
